About Us

Built in East London, for East London.

We're a grassroots mentorship organisation run by people who grew up here — for the young men coming up next.

Our Story

A circle worth standing in.

The Circle Project began with a simple Saturday morning run in Victoria Park — a handful of young men, two founders, and a belief that consistency builds character.

What started as a 5K has grown into a year-round programme of mentorship, industry exposure and life-skills sessions, designed specifically for young men aged 15 to 20 across Tower Hamlets and the surrounding boroughs.

We don't believe in saving anybody. We believe in walking alongside them — steady, present, and unwavering — until they find their own direction.

The Founders

The two who started the circle.

Nahid Ahmed

Co-founder

Born and raised in Tower Hamlets, Nahid built The Circle Project to give young men the steady hand and clear direction he wished he'd had growing up.

Mubarak Hussein

Co-founder

A long-time community organiser with a background in youth work, Mubarak leads our mentorship and partnerships across East London.

Our Values

Four points on the compass.

01

Brotherhood

Real community built on consistency, accountability and respect.

02

Discipline

Small habits, repeated weekly, change the trajectory of a life.

03

Purpose

Every young man deserves to know where he's going and why.

04

Roots

We're from East London, for East London. We don't parachute in.
